Milan Architects Foundation: TABU’s Bolivar veneers for “Beijing Views” photo exhibition

He is Jiehao Su, born in 1988 in China and living in the U.S., the photographer who won the second edition of the Gabriele Basilico International Architecture and Landscape Photography Prize: The Foundation of the Milan Order of Architects has dedicated an exhibition, in the midst of the 2019 Furniture Fair, at its headquarters in Via Solferino in Milan.

TABU collaborated on the exhibition project: natural dyed, certified and sustainable veneers from Bolivar (red and brown) framed the photographs on display.

“Jiehao Su’s work dedicated to the Chinese landscape (Borderlands, 2012-2015),” the Jury commented, “is a delicate and intimate investigation of territories, people, animals, and details of the environment related to his personal history. Sense of belonging, loneliness, search for identity are reflected in sweet and sentiment-laden images, yet devoid of rhetoric, offered in a spontaneous and harmonious narrative. On this basis Jiehao Su intends to build his new work, dedicated to the city of Beijing, between past and future, reality and imagination.”
